This is how big the price difference is

As the predecessor model, the Xiaomi 12 is naturally cheaper than the Xiaomi 13. In the online price comparison (as of March 2023), the entry-level configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage can be found from just under 500 euros. The Xiaomi 13, on the other hand, costs around 970 euros with the same memory configuration shortly after its release – almost twice as much. If you don’t want to spend that much at once, you can buy the Xiaomi 13 with a contract and pay the costs monthly. In view of the enormous price difference, however, a comparison is particularly worthwhile.

It is not uncommon for the visual innovations to be limited when jumping from one smartphone generation to the next. In the comparison between the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 12, on the other hand, there are quite a few differences. You are greeted by an almost edge-to-edge punch-hole display at the front of both devices. But while it bends around the edges left and right on the older model, the screen of the Xiaomi 13 is flat. The situation is similar with the frame, which is rounded on the Xiaomi 12 but flat on the successor.
