14 Things I hate About the New iPhone SE

by Abbey banji March 27, 2016
written by Abbey banji
14 Things I hate About the New iPhone SE 25

The price of iPhone SE, presented on March 21 in Cupertino, was lower than the usual Apple smartphones prices. But still very expensive! In Nigeria, the price of a new iphone SE with a minimum of 16-gigabyte version will cost you #110,224.11 (553.890 US Dollar). This price alone can buy you a new flagship android device with more specifications, but i guess the  apple fans don’t care. In addition to the price, the iphone SE itself have some issues and lack some basic features which are all present in other smartphones within it price range.

1. A very outdated design

During 2015, Apple sold more than 30 million smartphones, which include the iPhone 5S and budget iPhone 5C. Having concluded that users likes their small smartphones. The iphones has same designs, maybe to apple design is irrelevant –  but this is weird. The new released iphone SE looks identical to the old iphone 5s which was released 2 years ago, this design is outdated Why go back to the past designs?

2. Weak battery

The battery in the iPhone SE was only increased by 82 mAh. Reporters have not yet tested the  battery life, but the result can already be predicted based on past observations and reports, this means a weak battery life which can only struggle to last for a day usage.

3. The lack of  USB Type-C

14 Things I hate About the New iPhone SE 26

The USB Type-c has a great advantage and the iphone SE lack this feature. If you look at a USB Type-C cable you’ll notice that both ends look exactly the same and the plug on each end is perfectly symmetrical. With USB Type-C you can plug either end of the cable into a device and plug it in right side up or upside down. It doesn’t matter because USB Type-C is orientation agnostic. This means there’s no chance of damaging the cable–or the ports on your phone–by plugging it in the “wrong” way.

4. No external SD CARD support

The 16gb version will cost you $580 while the 64gb version will cost $700. This means in other to increase your internal storage you will have to spend more, this doesn’t make sense. This is a smartphone capable of recording 4k video but having only 16gb of internal memory, spending $700 for an iPhone SE is just too expensive.

5. Inability to work as a removable disk

With Too many restrictions and security: the iphone can not be directly connected to a PC, they, unlike the Android-devices cannot be used as a mass storage. You can only achieve this by jailbreaking which is very risky and you also lose your warranty. Even when using iTunes to synchronize media files between iPhone and PC. You will not be able to locate and see your files – the IOS filesystem is too secured.

6. No Dual Sim Support

Dual sim support has been a must for all smartphones manufacturers, except Apple: The iphone only support nano-SIM format. Many iPhone and iPad users can be seen using and carrying a second phone.

7. NFC implementation

The iPhone SE has a NFC module, but only works with the Apple Pay payment system which is not available for international users. The NFC module can be said to be virtually useless.

8. Lack of 3D Touch

This function has remained the best features of the top Apple devices – at the moment 3D Touch is only for  iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. I guess this features is only available for apple top line of expensive gagets.

9. No Stereo audio Output

14 Things I hate About the New iPhone SE 27

While many smartphones on other platforms had been equipped with stereo speakers for a long time, the iPhone SE, as well as all previous generation of iPhones were all equiped with mono speakers- the two grids located at the bottom of the phone is  just a design. Let wait for the iPhone 7 and see maybe Apple will include a stereo speaker.

10. No dust and moisture protection

Congratulations!! For dropping your new iPhone in the swimming pool, all you need is just $700 for a new device! The open connectors and speakers gave the iPhoneSE no chance for survival in water, while other flagship smartphones has a protection against moisture, dust and water, apple has decided this will not be available for their iPhone SE.

11. No wireless charging

Wireless charging is one of the best features in today smartphones, for some unknown reasons apple has decided not to include this in this device. That means coupled with an above average battery capacity you will have to take your charger everywhere you go.

12. No third party contacts and dialer available

Even with the latest operating system software upgrade, users are still stuck with the default dailer and contact included with the iphone. This might not be a good choice for people coming from other OS sure as android and window phone.

13. Bad optical stabilization in camera

This means less high-quality in the camera and low quality pictures.

14. old version of the Touch ID

The iphone SE has a first generation figerprint scanner known has touch ID, considering the fact the 6S and 6S Plus was equipped with the second generation of Touch ID, which is more faster and respond more quickly.

In conclusion my opinion is that the new iphone SE is still expensive, equipped with outdated components and also lack some basic features in today’s smartphones. I have to completely forget about buying an iPhone and get and Android phone, i like spending less and getting more features.

200 GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-1 card, REVIEW: Premium Edition

by Abbey banji August 23, 2015
written by Abbey banji
200 GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-1 card, REVIEW: Premium Edition 48
200 GB SanDisk Ultra

The memory card of SanDisk Series Ultra – a kind of flagship cards microSD. At the moment, it is the only card available, that has a volume of 200 GB.The new SanDisk Ultra supports data transmission at high speed UHS-I bus for fast exchange with PC and streaming high-resolution video. In this review we will tell about the new card tests in various conditions such as price, specifications, packing equipment, actual capacity, Synthetic tests and Analytical Tests.

    Specifications SanDisk Ultra UHS-1 200 GB (SDSDQUAN-200G-G4A)

  • Format: microSDXC
  • Nominal capacity: 200 GB
  • Actual size: 183.3 GB
  • Bus data exchange: UHS-I
  • Speed class: UHS Speed Class 1 / Class 10
  • Read Speed: up to 90 MB / s
  • Recording speed: at least 10 MB / s

 Price and availability:

The 200 GB SD CARD  is available for sale for $219.44 at Amazon right now.

Packaging equipment:

Although, at this point, the memory card is unique, it is packaged in a conventional plastic blister which in turn is placed inside a cardboard envelope.
200 GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-1 card, REVIEW: Premium Edition 49
200 GB SanDisk Ultra package

The volume and the technology used:

Despite the fact that 200 GB was written on the package, the actual amount of storage available for the user for  data record is 183.3 GB. On the back of the card packaging it was written to inform the user that one gigabyte is equals to one trillion bytes. But the users of the two hundred trillion bytes (200GB) user will not get the same: starting that “the real storage volume is less.” As a result, the amount of available memory storage is just 183.3 GB, or about 196.8 trillion bytes. We are already aware of this, but you will agree with me that  losing almost 17 GB of storage – is not a nice development. But unfortunately, this practice has long been a standard for all manufacturers of memory cards.
The SanDisk Ultra used O interconnect UHS-I, and high-speed memory card class is defined as UHS Speed Class 1 device supporting UHS-I, and Class 10 for devices without it. According to the standard, it must provide a minimum recording speed of 10 MB / s and read speeds of up to 90 MB / s.

Synthetic tests:

To verify the Transfer rate, we decided to use a popular pc program (synthetic test CrystalDiskMark). The program shows the speed of linear reading and writing. The Speed of our memory card SanDisk Ultra, according to the application is 82.83 MB / s. which is just a little bit Slightly lower than stated, but therein lies the same trick used in specifying the volume of all sdcards.

Analytical Tests:

We  test our 200 GB SanDisk with a file volume of 15.7 GB, which took 18 minutes 4 seconds. It is easy to calculate that the average speed record in this case was 15.6 MB / s. In this and subsequent tests, we took the file size in bytes and translates it into megabytes given the fact that one megabyte equals one million bytes, because, as mentioned above, these are the proportions used in standard SD.

Finally:

For common tasks, such as recording Full HD video and professional photography, the storage of this card is more than enough. If you are not bother by the price and can afford it. The SanDisk Ultra can be used in smartphone or tablet: the size of the memory card is enough to store a complete video library in your phone, not to mention the possibility of moving large photos and videos to your computer, if you shoot and record a lot. In Nigeria and other regions, the SanDisk Ultra UHS-I 200 GB is not yet available for sale in local stores, and the  prices abroad is now $ 213 (#45,000  at the current rate). It is a lot, but we are essentially dealing with a unique thing, and for professionals who know the value of quality work tool, it is unlikely to be a problem.

PROS:

  • the maximum storage available for a  microSD card (for now);
  • Support modern standard UHS-I;
  • High-speed read and write.

CONS:

  • the real volume is less than indicated on the card itself.

    Other
than the battery downgrade , It support a micro sd up to 128gb and 32gb internal memory Which I
really like about it!. LG has decided to include the 2610mah battery capacity
in this phone which is not a bad option, considering the lower screen
resolution the battery should be sufficient enough.

The LG G3  A  (F410S) Features a

Micro-SIM

This are the pros and cons of the Phone according to user
opinion:

PROS:

  • ·
It support Micro SD Card Up to  128gb and also has a 32GB Internal memory
  • ·
Made for some people who believe the
    original  G3 The unnecessary resolution
and screen size   of the original g3 is just a huge waste.
  • ·
I like this phone with the compact size and
    large screen.
  • ·
Camera features is very good it is just like  LG G Pro 2, it  has a 4k video recording and slow motion
    video features too.
  • ·         Removable battery
  • ·
    Nice specifications and featres

CONS:

  • ·
It has almost the same specification  like the
    L.g G2. G2 in G3 body. Simple.
  • ·
It doesn’t comes with a 3000mah battery like the
Original G3. It  has a 2610mah Removable battery capacity  like G2 Korean version.
  • ·
    A smaller screen and resolution.
  • ·
Only Available in in Korea, it’s just for  SK-TELECOMS. That means Buyer wont be able to Get the phone in other Regions
  • ·
    A smaller/downgraded Snapdragon 800 Processor.
Over all the LG G3 A is a very good phone and the fact that
it has a lower battery and screen resolution shouldn’t be a problem for you, if
you are considering buying the phone. The price of the phone is not available
for now has it is only available for the Korean market.

LG G3 Cons and Problems

LG G3 Cons and Problems 63
Lg G3

This are the cons and the problems I hate about the lg g3 which are just my personal  opinion, I do not actually dislike the LG G3 I like the phone but there are just some cons and disadvantages I think I dislike about it.

The Battery Life:

The battery life is very poor on the Lg G3, but actually the battery life on the phone is not awful, it just depend on your usage the battery can last a day with medium usage. The G3 has a large battery capacity but thanks to the device screen resolution display it drains the battery very quickly. The battery is similar to the new IPhone 6 and not has good has the new HTC flagship devices.

The speaker:

LG G3 Cons and Problems 64
LG G3 Back Speaker

Another problem about the Lg G3 is that the speaker is back facing, that means when you are listening to something it feels distance and the sounds is pointing away from you . That means if you want to get the best sound quality from the speaker you have to cup/cover your hands over it, which just feels stupid.

Companies like HTC have been Producing front facing Speaker for some  years now, and it makes their phone sounds feel superior. I do understand while LG  have done that, it because of the large display on the G3 if it has a front facing speaker it might make the device feels too big.

LG G3 Plastic Back:

LG G3 Cons and Problems 65
plastic back

The look of the back is extremely premium it has a brush aluminum effect look and very light weight in hand. However the back is made of plastic which doesn’t feel very nice in the hand, it feels better than Samsung galaxy s5, but it doesn’t feels nice in the hand like aluminum or glass. If LG did use one of this materials it would have increase the weight of the device and the price, so I think that is one of the reasons they use a plastic back.

Performers is not perfect:

The performers is definitely not poor, it actually have a very great performers. It also has great and fantastic specifications, however when doing task especially multitasking you will get some lags, some applications just take a bit longer to open or responding to button presses. The LG G3 has a quad core processor and 2gig /3gig of ram. This is one of the best spec you can get on a mobile phone at the moment, the little lag is not a massive problem and it doesn’t stop you from buying the phone.

Rom Support:

The lack of developer support might really be a problem for some people, it took the developer two weeks ago for them to be able to unlock the boot-loader, if you don’t know what a rom is I will advise you check out the XDA forum. At the moment only one rom is out for the G3 and am impressed on how the developers has quickly made a rom for the phone, since they have just unlock the device two weeks ago.

Overall the LG  G3 is a very great phone with brilliant performers and great spec too. But I guess there is no perfect phone, each device have but their Pros and Cons. Users experiences are always very different when it comes to using a phone, as we all use our phone in different ways.

Lg G2 cons and problems

Lg G2 cons and problems 71

This are the cons and the problems I face while using the Lg G2, That I don’t really like about the phone.  This are only my personal Opinion and experience, plus the disadvantages of the phone  other users may have different issues/experiences.

Speaker volume/ media playback is too low:

One of the Lg G2 major problem is that the speaker volume for media playback is low, it is really low compared to other phones.

The speaker for media is way too low and Bluetooth lags for video streaming. Also some media apps like my local cable app optimum and ABC go are not supported on this phone which is a shame since the phone have such a beautiful screen.

Photo edit in gallery:

Any edits you do to photos in the gallery will automatically compress it down to 400kb or so, which makes the photos useless and loses quality.

Phone getting Hot while browsing:

Also on A&t the battery drain from android system is a pain. I Hate that the back of the phone gets really hot close to the power button and This has typically been under light web browsing on 4g.

Back/Gorilla Glass:

The Back of the phone is still really slippery. Gorilla glass 2 is also terrible as I have gotten some fine scratches on the front that has forced me to  use of a screen protector.

Ui isn’t Impressive:

I Hate the Lg G2  UI it Cant be compared to  the  Lg g3 now in which I love the UI.

The old optimums UI on my  G2 is really cluttered and annoying.

The Button Arrangement:

At first I thought my main issue would be the slippery back, but that hasn’t really been a problem after having the phone for 3 months. The main issue I have is that I frequently press home by accident when I ‘m trying to press something else, such as putting the

cursor in the text input line of a text message. My previous phone had soft-keys too, but I didn’t have that problem. Must have something to do with how the size of my hands aligns with the size of the phone.

Overall the Lg  g2 is a very great phone with brilliant performers and great spec too. But I guess there is no perfect phone, each device have but their Pros and Cons. Users experiences are always very different when it comes to using a phone, as we all use our phone in different ways.

iPhone 6 Review, impressions and personal opinions. 77

Impressions from the iPhone 6

I will  go directly to a listing of pros and cons of iPhone 6 .

                                                                  PROS

This  are  the Impressions from the iPhone 6 that i   Liked:

Lovely  Design

I  like the slim design and the fact that the phone is very light too . The  Compactness of the iphone 6 makes it feel unique together with the  Excellent design  front panel and ends.

Sound

it has very loud and high-quality speaker, which gives even bass.

Excellent sound  quality headphones. Volume with a large margin, and compared with the iPhone 5s new iPhone markedly increased in the low frequencies.

The volume and quality in the earpiece/headphones are also very good.

Screen

Excellent color rendering, maximum viewing angles. Beautiful white and black very good.

Battery

The battery capacity of 1810mAh allows iPhone 6  to work in heavy-duty use and until late at night on average. Compared with iPhone 5s increase in autonomy from 15% to 30% depending on the usage scenario. On average, while the screen is 6-7 hours (in the case of iPhone 6 Plus I was getting 8-9 hours of screen).

YouTube (1 hr., Brightness 50%, 15% sat) Hours 7:00 operation screen (iPhone 6 Plus – 9 hours).

Gaming test

(gaming test, 100% brightness) 3 hours 30 minutes of work screen

But on (iPhone 6 Plus – 4:00 40 minutes).

100% – 0:20

70% – 1:30

46% – 2:20

30% – 3:00

16% – 3:20

1% – 3:50

Interface & Graphics:

I haven’t noticed any  Lags in the interface although compare to the  iPhone 6 Plus, all application works quickly. 3D performance is very good. Taking into account the screen resolution of the iPhone 6 it makes 3D games more faster than the  iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2 .

Camera

Good photographs in any shooting conditions. In good light shoots, as well as the iPhone 6 Plus . When bad light and middle shoots better than the iPhone 5s, but a little worse than the iPhone 6 Plus (less detail and more blurry shots due to the lack of optical stabilization). Very fast auto-focus. Excellent video recording  without any jerks.

Network

There is good  quality of cellular signal reception, and I don’t use  Wi-Fi. GPS satellites  is also very fast.

                                                                           CONS:-

Impressions from the iPhone 6  I don’t   like:

iOS 8.1

There are still bugs on IOS 8, but compared to the iPhone 6 Plus is noticeably smaller. It is  noticeable in some applications, but  there are no freezes or  reboots .There are no problems with the interface when in  zoomed mode, Many  applications that are not optimized to fit iPhone 6, so many of them have crisp/bad fonts.

I Don’t  like the  Strips on the back of the iPhone 6 they don’t look very good, Even more distressing is that they stick out a little bit making the phone a little uncomfortable.

Personal  Opinion:

I do not recommend you to change your  iPhone 5s to the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus . It is better for you to purchase a power bank , if the battery is not enough, but  I would recommend  you to change to the iPhone 6.

Besides  I will not recommend you to buy the 128GB version  of the phone  6 or  iPhone 6 plus because, of the common problems with the internal  memory ( You can search online to confirm ). Apple is rumored to have been trying to lower their cost by  not putting  very high quality memory in the iPhone 6, and in the next batch of iphones.  Apple plan  to switch to another  memory type known as  MLC NAND.
