Screen and design:

The biggest change in Xiaomi Bracelet 4 is the new new OLED color display, it uses a 0.95-inch AMOLED color screen, with adjustable brightness from the settings. This is a very big improvement and it featured an increased brightness up to 39.9% better than the previous Mi band 3 model.

The 240×120 resolution/0.95-inch AMOLED screen, helps make sure that more content can be displayed when users receive a notification message. In order to protect the screen against wear and long time usage,  Xiaomi uses 2.5D tempered glass cover layer protection. The AMOLED screen sliding response speed is now faster with colored icons, which can display the weather, notification, sports and other activities scene.

At the back of the wristband, there is a heart rate monitoring sensor, it takes about 5 seconds to get the result, automatic heartrate detection is also supported.

Features and Performance:

Before using the Mi band 4 you will need to set it up with your smartphone, by connecting it to the Mi-Fit App which you can download from Google Play or Apple Appstore, depending on your phone Operating System. The band is very easy to set up, the instructions are very clear in English. Inside the Mi-Fit app, users will see the following settings:

• Unlock Screen.
• Incoming Call.
• Event Reminder.
• Alarm.
• App Alerts.
• Idle Alerts
• Find band
• Discoverable and others.

 

With the App Alerts, you can actually choose the Apps you want to be getting notifications messages. The Idle Alerts will help notify, if you are sitting down for too long just as the name implies. After setup is complete, you can now go on to use your Mi band independently without a smartphone.

Xiaomi band 4 is equipped with an improved 6-axis sensors which includes, 3-axis accelerometer and the 3-axis gyroscope. It also support 5ATM level waterproofing which means, you can go swimming and sweat daily without a problem, the 6-axis sensor allows the band to provides 7 modes of data, including outdoor, indoor cycling, outdoor, indoor running, outdoor walking, free training and swimming training sports modes riding and all-round motion monitoring with professional data training records.

Interface:

There are many pre-installed theme for the watch display style with different kind of beautiful faces, all you have to do is to just Tap and install. It includes a 77 full-color display themes such as “Watching Pioneer” and “Qin Shi” with variety of popular IP customization themes to go with the users personality.

In terms of Navigation, all you have to do is just Tap on the band home button, swipe up and down with your finger to see the different available settings, tap to click on menu and swipe right to go back to the previous one.

Battery Life:

Testing and data shows that xiaomi band 4 can lasts for more than 20 days depending on usage and there is no problem with charging because the bracelet can now be directly charged without removing it from the wrist-strap.

Pricing and availability:

The Mi band 4 Smart Bracelet is available in the Standard Chinese version and Global Version. The main difference is in the Package, Manual, Certification Mark. The Default Language is Chinese for the Standard version and English for Global variant. The price for the Standard Version(Chinese) is expected to starts at $38 (About 13,694 naira). Further, the Global international Version will cost $42 (About 15,135 naira). China’s version is a little bit cheaper.
