Thanks to the FreeMCBoot exploit and the Open PS2 Loader (OPL) application , it is now possible to play PS2 games from the console’s internal hard drive.
There loads of advantages of using the internal hard drive, such as:
- Large storage capacity; your PS2 can store up to 2 TB of data.
- Speed: The internal hard drive is fast (66MB/s), much faster compared to a USB drive (1.5MB/s) or Ethernet (12.5MB/s) for playing games and for all read/write operations.
- Simplicity: you can transfer your games to the PS2 hard drive using either Windows or the network using the Ethernet connection.
- Reliability: you do no damage to the lens of your PS2.
