WHY YOU DON’T NEED TASK MANAGER AND HOW ANDROID MANAGE YOUR PHONE RAM AND BACKGROUND SERVICES.

by Abbey banji September 18, 2015
written by Abbey banji
WHY YOU DON'T NEED TASK MANAGER AND HOW ANDROID MANAGE YOUR PHONE RAM AND BACKGROUND SERVICES. 12

Installing third party Task killers or manager can really affect your phone performers. When you switch away from an app, that app will continue to run in the background only if it’s actually in used. For example, if you are downloading a file or a video  and minimize your browser, the download will continue to run.
When the download is done, your browser will remain in memory in an inactive state. Apps that don’t need to dobackground processing, like BillingAccountService, just sit there, using no CPU and no battery until they are needed by the system, or by you, to do something.

WHY DOES ANDROID NEED TO KEEP APPLICATIONS IN MEMORY OR RAM?

Because it’s likely that if you recently used an app or a service, you will use it again soon. If it’s in memory, the OS can simply request it quickly to redraw it’s screen. If you’ve killed it or used a task manager to clear recent apps from memory, the OS will need to copy from storage (ROM) back into RAM, start it up, wait for it to allocate any resources it needs, and then redraw the screen again. That takes longer, and uses more battery than if you had just let it run. If you start a new app that needs  memory an inactive app you are not using will be closed and the os will allocates the ram to the new open and running application.

What you need to understand is that most apps in memory/ram aren’t really “running.” They’re in an inactive state, using no cpu, and no battery.
The problem with task killers is that:
Android doesn’t know what they do, so it will allocate more MEMORY to them, and third party task managers tend to kill processes that Android needs to run. Google has spent thousands of man hours making Android manage memory and applications effectively and efficiently and no android apps either free or paid can help you manage your phone better.

Installing Taskmanger on your phone is not necessary Let Android do what it was designed to do. Your phone, will be faster and work better without third party task killers/managers.

Reasons why your android phone may hang or lag and possible solutions.

Reasons why your android phone may hang or lag and possible solutions. 18

The truth is, most of the android phones available in the market hang and lag alot after using them for sometime. Most especially phones that have below 512MB OF RAM and low INTERNAL MEMORY. There are many other possibly reason and causes:

CACHE AND INTERNAL MEMORY:

If you are an Android user, make sure you clear cache often, manage your applications so that it does not store too much data in phone’s internal memory and refrain from heavy browsing or playing hardware heavy games. This should lead to less crash, especially in low budget hardware Android models with low processor/cpu.

Android application has access that is equivalent to Windows registry style things. Various apps dump garbage and useless things in cache, which fills up phone’s internal storage (like hard disk) and phone becomes slower over time. Even if you install an app in SD card, it still
leaves traces in internal storage space due to android OS design.

TRY BOOTING INTO SAFE MODE:

If you use a samsung phone, you can Boot into Safe Mode, which prevents all 3rd party apps from starting up. If the phone works fine, then something you installed is causing the problem. You can try opening apps one by one and notice when the problems comes back then delete or update the conflicting application.

TRY REMOVING OR FORMATTING YOUR SD CARD:

If you have an SD card inserted, you can try unmounting it in Settings>Storage, remove it, and reboot. A corrupt sdcard or internal storage can cause problems and make your phone to lag or hang. It’s possible that one or more file is corrupted -Try to connect your phone to a computer and copy your files, then format your SD CARD/INTERNAL STOAGE and see if the problem is solved.

TRY WIPING CACHE IN RECOVERY MODE:

Try booting into Recovery Mode and wiping the cache partition, which won’t erase any personal data. Put your phone into recovery mode but instead of selecting Wipe Data/Factory Just select Wipe Cache Partition. When complete, then select Reboot System Now and see if that will solve the problem.

LOW RAM AND TOO MANY UNNECESSARY APPS:

Maybe, installing too many Apps might just be your problem. Delete unwanted installed applications and you will notice your Android phone manages apps and processes in the background just fine. If apps should use too much ram it’s going to cause problems. I’m pretty sure if you get rid of those apps you’ll also get rid of your freezing problems.

TASK MANAGERS/ TASK KILLERS:

In general, Task managers of any type don’t play well with Android versions above 2.3, and are completely unnecessary. You will have to choose between Having apps running in the background or a phone that crashes all the time. Android is a multi-tasking OS. It’s designed to have apps in the background. The only “wasted” RAM is empty RAM. Running apps will use only as much memory as they needed. Having a bunch of “extra” RAM won’t make them use more or run faster. “Empty” RAM doesn’t save battery; every bit of every byte of RAM in the phone is constantly refreshed whether it’s in “used” or not.

LG G3 A F410SB Review, Pros And Cons. 24

The Lg G3 A which is also known has LG G3 A F410SB is the Korean Version of the G3
made for the Korean Market. The different between this phone and the original G3
is that. The Lg G3 A has a smaller 5.2 inches screen and the cons/disadvantage
of the phone is that it doesn’t come with the 3000mah battery of the LG G3
D855/D850.

    Other
than the battery downgrade , It support a micro sd up to 128gb and 32gb internal memory Which I
really like about it!. LG has decided to include the 2610mah battery capacity
in this phone which is not a bad option, considering the lower screen
resolution the battery should be sufficient enough.

The LG G3  A  (F410S) Features a

Micro-SIM

Display
Screen Type:
IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Screen Size:
5.2 inches (~73.8% screen-to-body
ratio)
ScreenResolution
1080 x 1920 pixels (~424 ppi pixel
density)
Multitouch
Yes
Protection

Platform
OS
Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat)
Chipset
Qualcomm Snapdragon 800
CPU
Quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait 400
GPU
Adreno 330
Memory
Card slot
microSD, up to 128 GB
Internal
32 GB, 2 GB RAM
Camera
Primary
13 MP, 4160 x 3120 pixels, laser
autofocus, optical image stabilization, dual-LED (dual tone) flash.

This are the pros and cons of the Phone according to user
opinion:

PROS:

  • ·
It support Micro SD Card Up to  128gb and also has a 32GB Internal memory
  • ·
Made for some people who believe the
    original  G3 The unnecessary resolution
and screen size   of the original g3 is just a huge waste.
  • ·
I like this phone with the compact size and
    large screen.
  • ·
Camera features is very good it is just like  LG G Pro 2, it  has a 4k video recording and slow motion
    video features too.
  • ·         Removable battery
  • ·
    Nice specifications and featres

CONS:

  • ·
It has almost the same specification  like the
    L.g G2. G2 in G3 body. Simple.
  • ·
It doesn’t comes with a 3000mah battery like the
Original G3. It  has a 2610mah Removable battery capacity  like G2 Korean version.
  • ·
    A smaller screen and resolution.
  • ·
Only Available in in Korea, it’s just for  SK-TELECOMS. That means Buyer wont be able to Get the phone in other Regions
  • ·
    A smaller/downgraded Snapdragon 800 Processor.
Over all the LG G3 A is a very good phone and the fact that
it has a lower battery and screen resolution shouldn’t be a problem for you, if
you are considering buying the phone. The price of the phone is not available
for now has it is only available for the Korean market.

LG G3 Cons and Problems

LG G3 Cons and Problems 30
Lg G3

This are the cons and the problems I hate about the lg g3 which are just my personal  opinion, I do not actually dislike the LG G3 I like the phone but there are just some cons and disadvantages I think I dislike about it.

The Battery Life:

The battery life is very poor on the Lg G3, but actually the battery life on the phone is not awful, it just depend on your usage the battery can last a day with medium usage. The G3 has a large battery capacity but thanks to the device screen resolution display it drains the battery very quickly. The battery is similar to the new IPhone 6 and not has good has the new HTC flagship devices.

The speaker:

LG G3 Cons and Problems 31
LG G3 Back Speaker

Another problem about the Lg G3 is that the speaker is back facing, that means when you are listening to something it feels distance and the sounds is pointing away from you . That means if you want to get the best sound quality from the speaker you have to cup/cover your hands over it, which just feels stupid.

Companies like HTC have been Producing front facing Speaker for some  years now, and it makes their phone sounds feel superior. I do understand while LG  have done that, it because of the large display on the G3 if it has a front facing speaker it might make the device feels too big.

LG G3 Plastic Back:

LG G3 Cons and Problems 32
plastic back

The look of the back is extremely premium it has a brush aluminum effect look and very light weight in hand. However the back is made of plastic which doesn’t feel very nice in the hand, it feels better than Samsung galaxy s5, but it doesn’t feels nice in the hand like aluminum or glass. If LG did use one of this materials it would have increase the weight of the device and the price, so I think that is one of the reasons they use a plastic back.

Performers is not perfect:

The performers is definitely not poor, it actually have a very great performers. It also has great and fantastic specifications, however when doing task especially multitasking you will get some lags, some applications just take a bit longer to open or responding to button presses. The LG G3 has a quad core processor and 2gig /3gig of ram. This is one of the best spec you can get on a mobile phone at the moment, the little lag is not a massive problem and it doesn’t stop you from buying the phone.

Rom Support:

The lack of developer support might really be a problem for some people, it took the developer two weeks ago for them to be able to unlock the boot-loader, if you don’t know what a rom is I will advise you check out the XDA forum. At the moment only one rom is out for the G3 and am impressed on how the developers has quickly made a rom for the phone, since they have just unlock the device two weeks ago.

Overall the LG  G3 is a very great phone with brilliant performers and great spec too. But I guess there is no perfect phone, each device have but their Pros and Cons. Users experiences are always very different when it comes to using a phone, as we all use our phone in different ways.

Lg G2 cons and problems

Lg G2 cons and problems 38

This are the cons and the problems I face while using the Lg G2, That I don’t really like about the phone.  This are only my personal Opinion and experience, plus the disadvantages of the phone  other users may have different issues/experiences.

Speaker volume/ media playback is too low:

One of the Lg G2 major problem is that the speaker volume for media playback is low, it is really low compared to other phones.

The speaker for media is way too low and Bluetooth lags for video streaming. Also some media apps like my local cable app optimum and ABC go are not supported on this phone which is a shame since the phone have such a beautiful screen.

Photo edit in gallery:

Any edits you do to photos in the gallery will automatically compress it down to 400kb or so, which makes the photos useless and loses quality.

Phone getting Hot while browsing:

Also on A&t the battery drain from android system is a pain. I Hate that the back of the phone gets really hot close to the power button and This has typically been under light web browsing on 4g.

Back/Gorilla Glass:

The Back of the phone is still really slippery. Gorilla glass 2 is also terrible as I have gotten some fine scratches on the front that has forced me to  use of a screen protector.

Ui isn’t Impressive:

I Hate the Lg G2  UI it Cant be compared to  the  Lg g3 now in which I love the UI.

The old optimums UI on my  G2 is really cluttered and annoying.

The Button Arrangement:

At first I thought my main issue would be the slippery back, but that hasn’t really been a problem after having the phone for 3 months. The main issue I have is that I frequently press home by accident when I ‘m trying to press something else, such as putting the

cursor in the text input line of a text message. My previous phone had soft-keys too, but I didn’t have that problem. Must have something to do with how the size of my hands aligns with the size of the phone.

Overall the Lg  g2 is a very great phone with brilliant performers and great spec too. But I guess there is no perfect phone, each device have but their Pros and Cons. Users experiences are always very different when it comes to using a phone, as we all use our phone in different ways.
