Samsung has continued to update their devices to the latest version of Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Previously owners had received an update for Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Also, in some regions user are getting  “nougat” OTA update for the old Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Now, users of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 have started reporting that the tablet PC , released in year 2015, with Android Lollipop OS on board, has started receiving notifications  for Android 7.0 OS upgrade. This had been confirmed for the Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 in Germany and the LTE-version of the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 in Italy

   Upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat is now available for all versions of Nexus 6, it doesn’t matter whether you are on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow or the beta version of the Android Developer N. If you are using  custom firmware and you are unable to receive the OTA update , you can download stock official firmware here or  the OTA update file here. This manual installation is only for advanced users only and those who have previous experience.

Google has traditionally started the new month with the release of regular security updates for the Nexus line of devices. The update includes closing vulnerabilities in the  MediaTek, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Synaptics, Motorola, drivers as well as  in the Android system. In this montha total of  5 critical vulnerabilities, 29 high-severity bugs, and 13 moderate low level critical issues was patched and closed. The list of all patches is available on the google Android security security website.

Google has silently released the seventh version of its mobile operating system Android 7.0 Nougat ( Android N). There is no significant visual changes, it has the same Material Design with android 6.0 marshmallow, but with slight modifications.

Features Overview

  • Accuracy of Doze and optimizes system performance, depending on the usage.
  • Google has introduced the ability to update applications and systems in the background.

Background Updates

   Google has introduced the ability to update applications and systems in the background silently. Now, applications updates and system files will be downloaded and installed in the background after a restart, there is no more annoying “Optimizing Applications” window that keeps users waiting for there device to boot up.

   However, this feature is not available on every android phone, most especially the Nexus devices. The background update needs an extra storage section and most of the old devices, are not able to work with this feature, it is only available in the new devices. 

Multi-tasking ( Split Screen)

  The implementation of multi windows  bring about true multitasking like the ones we have always seen  in  Samsung galaxy devices. Although this feature is not new, it will give developers a chance and access to implement multi-window in their upcoming applications in all devices/phones with android 7.0.

   You can now run two different apps simultaneously,  you can easily activate this feature by holding the multitasking button and going into the settings.

   The accuracy of Doze has increased , it now operating more accurately to determine the time when the smartphone is not in use optimizing system performance, depending on the usage scenario. Those who have already managed to try the release version of  “nougat”, confirmed that the lifetime of the device increases by 15-20%  due to the new Doze 2.0 technology.

API Vulkan

   Until now API Vulkan was only available to owners of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, however, with Nougat Vulkan API is now available for all Android-devices, users can now play games with improved graphics.

   API Vulkan is design to improve graphics and gaming performance. This API allows developers to work directly with the graphics chip and offers access to more graphics effects like blur, improved fire effects and others.it will decrease the load on the graphics chip in the smartphone and increase productivity.

There is over 250 changes and improvements, some are listed below:

How to install

   Android N is now available to Nexus line devices. The updated list includes Nexus 6, 5X, 6P, 9, Nexus Player, and Google Pixel C tablet. OTA update is now available for nexus users of the above stated devices.

   As for owners of other Brands and manufacturers like Samsung, Sony and others, they will only get Android 7.0  when the manufacturer makes the appropriate update. It may take up to six months, although the gap is getting smaller every year. Usually the  Motorola, Sony and Samsung always update their flagship phones quickly. The first smartphone that will get Android 7.0 out of the box will be the flagship LG V20.

   Hey guys, here is a list of stable  Android 7.1 Nougat custom Roms for our beloved Xiaomi Mi Pad 1. The roms are from different developers and teams from the XDA forum and they are based on CM 14 and AOSP.

The Roms are stable and very good for daily usage, you are also going to be receiving new updates from the roms developers and they also comes with all android 7.1 features and the possibility to add more exciting user customization for the advanced users without limitations

You just have to download and install them and choose best one to use as your daily driver on your phone. This ROM is for the Mi Pad 1 (codename: mocha) only. Please do not try it on other devices. For Advanced users only.

Note: You must have a Custom recovery Installed on your phone in other to Install a custom rom or a modified stock rom.

Firmware is available in two versions, for installation either with sp- FlashTool or with TWRP recovery.

How to install with FlashTool:
Select
the scatter.txt file in sp-flashtool and select Download only mode , if
you had previously installed the firmware based on 6.0, you can simple
select system, boot, logo, recovery and userdata only.
If you don’t
want to lose data on your internal memory, do not select userdata and
after installation successful reboot to recovery and wipe Data Cache.

How to install Rom with TWRP:

  • The ROM.zip file must be installed with Custom TWRP recovery
  • Follow this steps below:
  • Unzip the firmware to the root of your internal memory or on the sd-card.
  • The extracted folder should look like this ” TWRP BACKUPS Y6 PIXEL_MOD_for_DOOGEE_Y6″
  • Reboot your phone into TWRP recovery
  • Then go to “Restore” and restore all marked sections.
  • After recovery is successful make sure you wipe/clean  Data and Cache. restart your phone and enjoy.

How to Install Nokia ROM

 

  • Make sure you are running an Android 7.x o ROM (LineageOS 14.1 is not included). If not, download and install official 7.0 for DOOGEE Y6
  • Install TWRP for DOOGEE Y6
  • Boot from TWRP
  • Backup NVRAM and NVDATA just in case
  • Wipe data, cache, dalvikart cache and system.
  • Install the ROMReboot (First boot shouldn’t exceed 10 minutes)Done.

Notes:

If you use the ROM for a certain time and wipe the data in TWRP, you will need to flash the whole ROM or you’ll be stuck in bootloop.

You should use Buttons Remapper*to remap your left button so that it can launch Recent apps just like in Stock

In case of IMEI error or no signal, boot to TWRP and restore NVRAM and NVDATA backup.

The processor provides impressive multi-core performance while reducing power consumption by 15%. Fact 2: Kirin 960 supports Vulkan API for 3D-applications

Kirin 960 has been confirmed to fully support the new Vulkan graphical standard for Android 7.0, it can boost up graphics performance up to about 400%. Vulkan API overcomes the limitations imposed by the CPU to the GPU performance, improving output and performance with rendering.

Fact 3: Coprocessor in Kirin 960 maximizes smartphone

The Coprocessor i6 used in production of Kirin 960 uses big.LITTLE architecture – in order to allocate different resources to more productive core of Cortex-A73 and weaker task to the Cortex-A53. i6 operates with light tasks, when the main processor is not enabled, which allows the smartphone to work effectively all the time and consume little power. This prolongs the smartphone usage time , for example, when using GPS-navigation.

Fact 4: The first Huawei processor with support for global mobile networks.

It has the first processor with support for all global frequency bands and mobile communication standards, including GSM, UMTS, CDMA, TD-SCDMA, TDD-FDD-LTE Cat 12/13, which allows to download data at speeds up to 600 Mbit / s.
